Pure Digital Evoke 1S DAB Radio: Where Old Meets New (Radio-Wise)

Blogging here in the morning, I’m either listening to house and/or trance mixes or to talk radio, be it NPR or the Norton and Friends show. If I lived in a DAB-friendly area, I might be using something like the Pure Digital EVOKE-1S. Not because it’s “revolutionary” or anything, but because it looks like it’s straight out of 1954. That’s not to say that the radio is mere eye candy, though. Evoke has the necessary inputs to connect a DAP, and Pure Digital throws in FM radio for good measure.

Evoke’s two line, OLED display shows what’s currently playing (either DAB or RDFified FM radio) and its wood-looking case? Yes, real wood! I can’t remember the last radio I owned, let alone one made of wood. The radio also carries the EcoPlus badge of honor, which lets you know that for every radio you purchase, you help subsidize Al Gore’s fuel costs for his private jet. The ol’ radio should be out by September for around $200. Product Page [Pure Digital via Fareastgizmos ]
