What’s taking so long for GoldenEye to be released on the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console?
Rare’s Nick Burton says the number of licensees involved will more than likely prevent the game from ever being available on Virtual Console, saying the game is in “ no man’s land .” Says Burton:
It’s incredibly hard to solve because there’s so many license holders involved. You’ve got the guys that own the license to the gaming rights now, the guys that have the license to Bond as an IP, and there are umpteen licensees.
Lame. Virtual Console is the easiest way to play classic games on your HDTV without them looking terrible. Yeah, you can emulate the game, but it’s not really the same as playing it while on your big comfy couch, now is it?
